Felimare picta

This design is based on Felimare picta, even though the photo I took underwater and the design I embroidered look like different species. Felimare picta changes color with age, going from darkblue, almost black, to a pale blue/violett. I observed this species during dives in the Mediterranean, inspiring this design. Due to the large size of this older individual, the buddys I dove with on that particular dive actually managed to see the nudibranch that I was excitedly showing them - something that doesn’t happen too often, as most nudibranchs are really small and you need to know to focus on the tiny animals. Each item is made to order and embroidered on organic cotton garments— turning an underwater encounter into something you can wear.
